Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things
Galatians 6:6 KJV
People have made merchandise of this scripture, without paying attention to teaching the Word. Today, they prophesy and demand seeds.
Seed sowing is not for prophecy, but for you to untie with the Word of God. When you receive the Word, you release a seed.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
1 Corinthians 14:31 KJV
So, when they prophesy, what should we do? Learn, and not necessarily sow seeds. How do you learn? When a prophecy is given, you have to retain and call it forth to pass by holding faith and a good conscience (1 Timothy 1:18-19). But when the Word is taught, you release something.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:7-9 KJV
Having received holy precious Words, sowing a seed means depriving yourself of the materialism. Because if you don’t give up material stuff for the Holy Word, that could mean the material stuff have some control over you or is as a god to you.
If you hear of God and receive the Word, mammon must be released because you can’t serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).
The rich young ruler came to ask of Jesus, how he could inherit eternal life. John 17:3 tells us that eternal life is having the knowledge of the only true God and His Son, Jesus – which means the knowledge of the Word.
Jesus asked the young ruler to sell all he had and give to the poor. He walked away and couldn’t follow Jesus. You can’t hold on to materialism and still have a hold on God from the Word of God.
If you hear the Word of God and cannot let go of materialism, you didn’t hear the Word of God. A proof that the Word you hear can start sitting properly in you, is that it took off a material stuff that you would have held on to so dearly.
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it” (Hebrews 4:2). Why did they not profit of the Word? Because the cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches choked the Word. When that happens, you lose the Word.
How do you sow to the flesh? For instance, he that takes money to buy clothes to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption. But he that takes his money and sows it as a seed for the will of the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.
Our seed is not primarily for a material gain. Matthew 6:19 didn’t say lay up treasures for the future, but in heaven.
Sowing to reap material things is good, but not best. The better things of life do not come primarily by financial seed sowing. They are your rights in Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Ephesians 1:3-4 KJV
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2 Peter 1:3-4 KJV
All that we need, we already have because He has given unto us. This is the real gospel.
I know someone is thinking: “But Pastor, I sowed a seed for something I wanted and I got it.” It was because you didn’t have faith. If you had faith, it would’ve come without sowing.
You had to use a seed to help your faith because the seed, as it were, was your god. When money is a man’s god, he has to give it up to be able to trust in God. But when money isn’t your god, you don’t have to give it up to trust God for what you already have.
So, sowing the seed doesn’t make the result show up in itself. It helps your faith to trust God even more.
This may be hard to chew for babes, but study this by the Spirit and bask in the truth shed.
