Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.
Acts 20:26-27 NIV
Paul said that he has given the whole counsel of God. The reason I preach and you sometimes don’t comprehend everything I say is because it’s the whole counsel of God I minister to you. For you to understand the whole counsel and will of God, you need to metamorphoō into the Word of God (Romans 12:2). If you don’t change to the Word of God, you can’t know the will of God.
The deep things I teach is life in the Spirit (John 6:63); that’s what you feed on (Luke 4:4). Doing a business will earn you money, but you cannot just do anything to get spiritual things. Spiritual things are the real deal.
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
Acts 20:28 NIV
If nothing will go wrong, what’s the point keeping watch? Everyone should watch out for someone.
The reason I try to straighten up things people say is because Christ purchased us with His blood; such precious sacrifice. The Church is precious. We shouldn’t find things go wrong in the Faith according to scriptures and keep quiet. That’s why we must earnestly contend for the Faith (Jude 1:3).
I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
Acts 20:29 NIV
There are wolves in sheep clothing in the Church today, and trust me on this; they will not spare the flock. “…if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24). If this deception is threatening the very elect, what about the babes?
1 John 4:1 says, “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but TRY THE SPIRITS whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” It didn’t say, “…try the flesh or looks” because they will, to the best of their ability, copy the real ones to stay validated, even though fake.
One of the things that fakes do today is that they submit under a real minister as sons or as close pals just to deceive many and erase any iota of suspicions in their dealings with the people.
Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
Acts 20:30 NIV
Check this: people who manifest these character don’t make progress of the Spirit. In the professional and spiritual world, when progress is being made, then truth is being validated.
In the will of God, progress is not just about a rise in financial inflow or numerical boosts but true spiritual growth that affects a man’s character, positively. Financial progress could be a product of the progress, but not progress, in itself.
God has not called us to raise disciples after us, but after Christ with a manifesting of the Word and Spirit.
When ministers raise disciples after themselves, watch closely, the people make idols of them. The use of pictures, rosaries, and all sorts of media is Idolatry. Idolatry was highly criticised in scriptures, but many still practice it today.
Today, people pray and say: “The God of this or that person.” Have you thought about what becomes of such prayers if their God is not the Almighty God? The only mediator between man and God is Jesus. David said: the Lord of my Lord, not Elijah, not Moses, none other! If you must use the God of someone, it should be, “The God of Jesus.”
Paul said that if anyone preaches another gospel other than what he taught them, let such an one be accursed (Greek: anathema; meaning to be banned or excommunicated). So, as concerning the real truth, everyone is a suspect.
So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.
Acts 20:31 NIV
Someone asked why I’m always in the character of scolding and correcting. Paul warned them for three years. Don’t lose guard. Don’t get carried away.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Acts 20:32 KJV
The only thing Paul could entrust them to, was the Word of God. In these last days, our only guide against the wolf is the Word of God. If we give attention to the Word by the Spirit, we will be properly guided.
Today, you find ministers of God in the habit of extorting their members. I haven’t said that giving is wrong. Of course not. But must not be done by cajoling or gimmicks.
Paul’s hands laboured; he met his needs and the brethrens’. He was a tent maker, even though a minister.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
Authority in the Greek, as used in the above scripture is the word, dunamis.
The authority of Jesus released to us is the commissioning ability to teach all nations what He commanded and also live with the consciousness that His Spirit is with us always.
You’ve got right to preach the gospel and make disciples (students) of Christ.
The establishing of Bible schools do not have any validated scripture as backup. God did not ask us to do Bible school because the Church ought to be the Bible school where every member (Bible students) are properly taught and fed of the Word.
If you’re not a student of the Word, you cannot use the Word properly and as such become susceptible to deception by the devil and his cohorts.
Anyone who really wants to make progress in Christianity must be a student of the Word and be able to use it effectively.
So, don’t let go of the real deal and chase shadows. Lay hold on eternal life.
