SOUL CHANGE BY PASTOR PRESTON IDORO

There’s a popular saying that change is the only constant thing in nature because things don’t remain the same way forever as they’d always be acted upon by various factors that initiate such change.

For example, a child grows to becoming an adult by function of time and nutrition (amidst other factors). A chair, even though left without being used, changes colour by the action of dust. So, everything is subject to change.

However, in life, change is intentional and is a vital ingredient for progress. No matter how old you are or how far you’ve gone, the good news is that no matter how difficult true change is, change is possible.

I always like to say that you may blame your parents for how you were raised, but you must take responsibility to initiate change on the man you want to become.

Change is either supernatural or by training. There are three classifications of change that cuts across the tripartite nature of man:

  1. Spirit change is automatic and happens when we believe in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
  2. Soul change takes series of processes (Romans12:2, Ephesians 4:17-20).
  3. Body change happens when we meet with Jesus or when we die and dilapidate in the earth (1 Corinthians 15:38-44).

It is worthy of note that the body and spirit changes are easy but the soul change is somewhat difficult.

If you follow my write-ups very closely, you’d have observed that I write a great deal about reprogramming of the soul because that forms the bulk of an intentional process of change relevant on this earth.

In the first nine years of a child’s life, the soul is programmed by a process called hypnotism and this forms 95% of a man’s reasoning called the subconscious. Afterwards, to correct a wrong programming is done by continuous repetition of the new character or program.

Unfortunately, a lot of times, a lot of people aren’t disciplined to fixing their eyes on something and then changing to it by repetitive learning. So, what they do is decorate themselves with the attire of change when there’s truly no change. When they express themselves in extreme excitement or rage, their real nature shows up.

The Lord spoke to me that even a lot of Pastors truly don’t change; they don’t learn how to follow through to effect change in their souls. Hence, you’ll find a lot of pretence in their actions.

When you always revert to a previous way of action, it’s because that has formed your comfort zone and you haven’t yet conformed to the change you seek to initiate.

One major factor to why change seem difficult is that those who intend to change have not come to terms with the consequences of remaining the same way or there’s no physical price attached as reward for that process.

There are several processes involved in change and every individual needs to change daily because there will always be relevant new discoveries. That’s why even phones have upgraded versions. The current version is only the moment’s best. So, you must consistently change to the picture of what’s showing up.

More challenges show up as you grow up; the world keeps getting tougher. Hence, you need to change to meet up with the criteria of the things that show up in life so you can have a great, sweet and easy going life in a tough world and be able to solve more problems as you learn more.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2 KJV

You must learn to metamorphoō (Greek: advance, transfigure, change form) into what is and what you should be.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV

The better you change into the Word, the better you will understand the will of God which is the Word of God.

You cannot know God’s will until you change into God’s Word. The magnitude to which you change into God’s Word will determine how much of God’s will you can understand and manifest.

Why can’t people know the will of God? It’s because they’ve not changed into the Word of God and even some of the people they ask to tell them the will of God don’t even know what the will of God is. Those who know the will of God and have not changed into God’s Word can only know it by ginosko (revelation knowledge).

In Matthew 16, we see an expression with Peter who, by ginosko, said that Jesus is the Son of God. Notwithstanding, just the next moment in that same scripture, he said that Jesus wouldn’t die. It tells you that Peter didn’t know what the will of God was, but was only privileged to have Jesus’ identity revealed to him by ginosko.

As believers, it’s of great importance that we change into the Word of God. The more we change into the Word of God, the more our dealings become perfect and the more we develop ourselves with better initiatives and rule and reign more in our world.

Romans 9:1 says, “I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost.” If we program our lives rightly, we’ll always speak rightly.

So, look at your life and assess it by the Word of God. When you truly change, it will be glaring to all you come in contact with.

The Holy Spirit said to me that if people will truly change, they will get better and feel excited and more fulfilled. Everyone likes the product of change, but not very many persons go through the process. It’s not about what you like but what you should do for who you should become.

Many persons have ruined a great future because of their comfort zones. Comfort zones don’t birth greatness. People who remain where they feel comfortable don’t get better.

As a matter of fact, even in the scientific world, they tell you to be innovative and creative. To do this, you need to be flexible with a flexible mindset and not a fixed mindset.

Those who have fixed mindsets will soon run out of the limelight but those with flexible mindsets will change to what is changing and become the character that can respond to what is changing at the moment.

Become the character that can solve every new challenge that shows up or become the character of the calling that God has called you so that you can be effective and deal with the challenges that show up in your course.

The truth is this: at the initial stage, change is very difficult. But as you continue, you’ll get used to it and it’ll become your new comfort zone.

Successful people have brilliant principles that they trade as their characters. They don’t just live life, but live their lives by principles—that’s why they speak of ethics. Ethics are principles to guide us to do what we’re supposed to do. This also applies to the laws they trade. They trade law by proven principles that have worked overtime.

Learn to guide yourself to respond to principles that work and the highest of them is the Word of God. The human brain is elastic in function and can accommodate new commands. This is referred to as ‘neuroplasticity’.

When you want to learn or do new things, the brain tells you that it’s impossible because of your previous default programming. But if you will continue, after a period of time, it will expand to a new threshold and keep expanding until you get to a better one.

So, learn to change for the better. Know where you’re headed to and the requirements in the will of God. When you find them, make them your new character; no matter how painful they are and you’ll be excited at how you’ll see your life produce excellent results naturally.

Change looks good on you!
